<description>After bringing the Colorado Tourism account back in-state, we knew we had to do something special.

But lots of places can shoot beautiful videos. We needed to rise above the clutter and stand for something.

We set out to capture what it really feels like to visit Colorado. It's not just about the things you do. But the realization that this is what life is all about.

Matt Ingwalson (Creative Director) had the vision for this campaign. He wrote the voiceover in the TV spots. I wrote the print ads seen below.

<description>Men are not born. They're built.

We designed the 2012 American Crew Style Selector book with two purposes in mind. To debut three new haircuts to stylists. And reinforce our brand's position as an expert on masculinity.

I wrote this article on the history of York Hall, connecting our brand images with a boxing icon.

<description>Exclusive Resorts came to us and said they needed to launch a new brand. We needed a name. A brand identity. A logo. And a website. In a month.

We said no problem.

The website established Portico as a new take on the luxury destination club. In the first month alone, the number of new members tripled expectations.

<description>How do you invite your own agency to a holiday ice skating party?

You design an invitation with skate laces.

The invite captured the fun tone of the party and put everyone in the mood to fall on their butts. Lining the edges of the middle panel are a bunch of lines that started as “Snapple facts” and ended up a little offbeat.

Hand-laced, locally letterpressed.

<description>When your client has a three-panel window at the corner of 17th and Tremont, you could do a display wrap.

Or you could stuff the Brown’s window with brown teddy bears. And have a contest with a mobile entry to guess the number of stuffed animals.

The best part: the winner received a weekend at The Brown Palace and got to donate the bears to a Colorado charity of their choice.

<description>In 2011, the Colorado Tourism Office hosted its annual conference in Loveland. We decided to use art as way to unite attendees from all over the state and give a nod to Loveland’s public art heritage.

In between speaker sessions, we asked conference guests to use markers and paint to express what Colorado means to them on tiny squares of felt. 384 squares later, we had an 8’ x 12’ state flag that shows the attendees' state pride and now acts as a traveling art exhibit.

<description>The Brown Palace partnered with Wynkoop Brewing to make a beer with a special ingredient: honey from the beehives on top of the famous hotel.

The beer needed a name. One that quickly communicated the style and highlighted what made this beer unique. I named it Rooftop Honey.

We designed a logo and put it on t-shirts, glasses, coasters, and tap handles. Then we drank a couple dozen growlers. And then we made a poster.

<description>Jack Daniel's is the clear category leader. But if you've got numbers that prove you've got a better product, I believe in going up against the leader.

<description>When we launched Alli, we had a special challenge. We had to make sure the right people bought it AND that the wrong people didn't. We needed to show that Alli was a different way to lose weight, one that works if you do.

So I wrote a 156-page book that showed how you could lose weight the right way while discouraging people looking for a magic pill.

Open and honest. Something new for the weight loss category.

The book appeared at retailers where Alli would be stocked, weeks before the launch. The first ad is part of the launch print. The following ad is a full-page USA Today ad that ran the day after the Super Bowl.

Winner of Gold Reggie Award
