Visual piece to accompany a self-penned design manifesto. The message centres around the idea that as graphic designers we are frequently dealing with the temporary - posters, flyers, leaflets packaging and so on are all highly disposable, but as designers it is important to remember that our message, our visual style, and our ideals need not be.

Beyond the grid is a study concerned with the exploration of ornamentation by way of logic.

Harnessing the potential of seemingly mundane sudoku puzzles we encounter day to day, we attempt to unlock the hidden aesthetic quality and artistic application of geometric formation.

Patterns are generated daily in response to these puzzles we encounter. These abstract formations are wide open to all interpretations and applications. The formations may simply serve as a daily inspiration or source for ornamentation.

Upon entering the site visitors are presented with the formation pattern for that day. This could be seen as a visual representation of the day or a daily source of inspiration. These formations are viewable in a variety of different styles. If desired users may browse by date to view previous formations relating to past dates.

Beyond the grid encourages users to utilise these formations in a wide variety of mediums and share their exploration with the site.

As part of a packaging design project at school in Paris we were asked to design packaging for a range of confectionary soon to be released by a well known high-street fashion brand - in my case, Uni-Qlo.

As part of the YCN Student Awards this year I designed a series of posters for Thames Clipper boat services.

The challenge was to communicate to both tourists and Londoners the benefits of travelling by boat in London.

I wanted to convey the idea that by travelling with Thames Clipper you get the opportunity to see London in a way you have never seen it before. Whether you are a tourist in London for only a weekend or a born and bred Londoner that walks the south bank daily, the Thames Clipper service allows you to see London in a new and exciting way – from the Thames.
