For the advertisement sign, I took the "M" from Musashino and made it symbolize a smoking volcano. The smoke represents the out pouring of the student's creativity, energy, and imagination. Red colour represents the student's passion. I purposely created this sign to be simple but eye catching by using only two colours and a symbol. Since Tokyo is busy, fast-paced environment, the simplicity of my design would encourage passerby to reflect on it and perhaps be impressive. On the cover, there was a small flame to symbolize the fire in the hearts of Musashino Art University's students and faculty. The subtle "m" at the flame's base stands for the name of the university,and the spirals the bonds created between the students old and new and the professors and staff of Musashino Art University. Fire staeters: The welcome staff were known as the "fire starters" as they promoted the new students to ignite their inner fire and ability. They were the human embodiement of the welcome book and the ideas and promise it represented.
