Wind Power
Installation, Proposal, 2008

We rely on the power of wind. However, calling “wind force generation of electricity”, there have difficult image? First, I think that it makes the familiarity the wind, as been able to fell the existence of the wind which flows in the town and is not visible, the semi-three-dimensional poster which fit up the three-dimensional yellow pinwheel in the poster in city. The yellow of the pinwheel represents shining of the wind. A similary-designed poster was placed on a train platform as well. These pinwheel turned with the arrival and departure of each train on that platform, beginning with the first early-morning train to the last homeward-bound one late at night.

Musashino Art University Degree show Advertisement sign, 2007
Degree show date: January 26-29, 2007
Musashino Art University Takanodai Campus

My design plan adopted, result from won the first prize at the design competition on my campus. For the advertisement sign, I took the "M" from Musashino and made it symbolize a smoking volcano. The smoke represents the out pouring of the student's creativity, energy, and imagination. Red colour represents the student's passion.

I purposely created this sign to be simple but eye catching by using only two colours and a symbol. Since Tokyo is busy, fast-paced environment, the simplicity of my design would encourage passerby to reflect on it and perhaps be impressive.

For the new school term in spring 2007, I participated in a 4-person group project to make a welcome book for new students. On the cover, there was a small flame to symbolize the fire in the hearts of Musashino Art University's students and faculty. The subtle "m" at the flame's base stands for the name of the university, and the spirals the bonds created between the students old and new and the professors and staff of Musashino Art University.

Fire staeters: The welcome staff were known as the "fire starters" as they promoted the new students to ignite their inner fire and ability. They were the human embodiement of the welcome book and the ideas and promise it represented.

Tower of set off fires: The occurrence written by the students, they were ignited to their inner be at university. The tower's big fire, consists of each fire pieces.

Seminar Exhibition in the department of Design informatics at Musashino Art University

The theme of the exhibition was Japanesque Modern, the goal of which to find a new angle on Japanesque and create innovative art according to these ideas. Therefore, for the poster, I wanted to express a new angle on the rising sun which is the symbol of Japan with the traditional Japanese print style of "Ukiyoe" as inspiration, I created the poster using color gradation. At the exhibition I displayed the leaflets in shapes of resemble Japanese folding fans.
