The focus of the exhibit was the interplay between Modernism’s core values: form=function and beauty=structural value. The solution was to showcase how each material played an integral role in the movement’s enduring appeal. The invitation mimics the deconstruction motif of the exhibit. Recipients had to literally take apart the invitation to get the details of the event. They could then rebuild the piece as a West Coast Modernist memento.
