		<description>GEEKY STUFFBLUE, GREEN + GREY WATER FOOTPRINT_ 
Water use is measured in terms of water volumes consumed (evaporated) and/or polluted per unit of time. Both the operational and supply-chain water footprint split up into three elements:

    * The blue water footprint is the volume of freshwater that evaporated from the global blue water resources (surface water and ground water),
    * The green water footprint is the volume of freshwater evaporated from the global green water resources (rainwater stored in the soil as soil moisture).
    * The grey water footprint is the volume of polluted water, calculated as the volume of water that is required to dilute pollutants to such an extent that the quality of the water remains above agreed water quality standards.

WATER USE IN SPACE + TIME_
The water footprint is a geographically explicit indicator, not only showing volumes of water use and pollution, but also the locations and timing. The ecological or social impact of a water footprint obviously depends not only on the volume of water use, but also on where and when the water is used.

WATER FOOTPRINT ACCOUNTING_
Water footprint accounting is relevant for any sort of business, private or public. Business water footprint accounting can be applied for any coherent entity producing goods and/or services that are supplied to consumers or other businesses. It can be done for a private company or corporation, but also a governmental or non-governmental organisation or a public utility. It can be applied to various levels of scale, for instance a specific division of a company, an entire company or a whole business sector. Water footprint accounting can also be done for a project (e.g. construction of a piece of infrastructure) or activity (e.g. the organization of a large sports event).

THE WATER FOOTPRINT OF A PRODUCT_
By definition, the water footprint of a business is equal to the sum of the water footprints of the business output products. The supply-chain water footprint of a business is equal to the sum of the water footprints of the business input products.

Rather than the tip, BLOO Nation is tackling the submerged part of the iceberg, when it comes to water sustainability. We completely agree with and support every effort to conserve water (if it's yellow, let it mellow, if it's brown, flush it down). However BLOO Nation is focused on tackling the elephant in the room, that is reducing the corporate water footprint:

"The total volume of fresh water that is used directly and indirectly to run and support the business. It consists of two components:

    * The operational water footprint, i.e. the direct water use by the business in its own operations,
    * The supply-chain water footprint, i.e. the water use in the business’s supply chain.

Many businesses have a supply-chain water footprint that is much larger than the operational water footprint."

INVESTIGATE YOUR WATER CONSUMPTION_
BLOO Allies are organisations that have already or are currently taking the steps required to investigate and thus reduce their water footprints. There are tons of companies already doing great things in this arena but we need even more to jump on the bandwagon.

BLOO Nation recommends downloading Water Footprint Network's Water Footprint Assessment Manual as an ideal starting point.

We believe that those out there, making an effort to efficiently manage the water being used in their organisations, deserve to be acknowledged. At BLOO Nation's HQ, we are currently in the process of finding out who the good guys are and compiling a set of criteria to define these organisations. Once we've got a decent list, BLOO Nation vouches to make it our personal mission to reward these organisations by promoting them with our water proof stamp.

BLOO Nation THE WATER CRISIS_ 
By 2025, more than half of the world’s population will be facing water-based vulnerability.

Our planet is running out of water and we don't even know it. What's even crappier, is that, because the vast majority of us are unaware of this predicament, we're unknowingly (+ indirectly) wasting water through the products that we consume and making matters worse.

BLOO Nation is shedding light on the real issues surrounding the water crisis, the concept of embedded water and the 'water footprint'.

Apparently, Lola has a Masters in Technology Entrepreneurship but we reckon that this born and bred Londoner is an aspiring geek, with a social conscience. With over 4 years professional experience in Tokyo and NYC, Lola is currently loving her latest feat, BLOO Nation, where she can be found tinkering with interactivity, branding and guerrilla marketing methods across digital platforms.

GUILLAUME + REMYArchitecture + Art Direction

Architects and French partners-in-crime, Guillaume and Remy (of Holdup Architecture) were pretty much born with pencils in their hands. After spending a fair amount of time working in lands as far-reaching as Latin America and the Far East, these nomads acquired a shared vision to improve reality, with nature as their muse. It is this, teamed with a never-ending quest to reveal the hidden potential of our environment, that led Guillaume to begin BLOO Nation with Lola, later being joined by Remy. All the cool design stuff, from images to installations, is down to them.</description>
