The assignment required that I construct a three-dimensional representation of my personality, and that it rest upon a site modeled after the yard from my childhood home. The site is modeled after the front yard of the home that my mother and I moved into after my parents' divorce. The object is not secured to the site, representing the many homes I've lived in throughout my life. Regarding the object: I figured that if I were to construct a model of my personality, the only reasonable representation would be a scale model of my physical-self. Instead, I chose to build something more holistic - the two defining elements of my personality - my mother and father; the egg and phallus. By hiding the phallus in the egg I invert any preconceptions about my gender, masculinity, and thereby obscure any attempt to understand my personality through a constructed object.
