<description>This project is a work in process. I wanted to have an excuse or theme to experiment around with some design so I thought songs would be a good starting point to make a fictional album cover for each of them. You can see all covers clicking on the image.

<description>My friend Maria just started making cakes as a business and she needed some business cards and a menu so I volunteered to make them.
Not only because I love her cakes but also to keep on practicing and eventually improve my skills. Her cakes are 100% home made and "imperfect". They are the complete opposite to a perfect icing cake and more like what your grandma would bake for breakfast or tea.

&#60;img src="http://payload2.cargocollective.com/1/0/20839/2354427/zarina_businesscards_640.jpg" width="640" height="480" width_o="800" height_o="600" src_o="http://payload2.cargocollective.com/1/0/20839/2354427/zarina_businesscards_o.jpg" data-mid="11930562"  border="0" align="left"/&#62;&#60;img src="http://payload2.cargocollective.com/1/0/20839/2354427/menuzarigranateok_640.jpg" width="640" height="522" width_o="1084" height_o="884" src_o="http://payload2.cargocollective.com/1/0/20839/2354427/menuzarigranateok_o.jpg" data-mid="11930581"  border="0" align="left"/&#62;

So what started with some business cards became also some "posters" for a small Facebook action we did. Since the business had just started and we didn't have much visual material to upload on Facebook to keep it fresh. I decided to pick some pictures from a small sampling she did at a Vintage fair and play with them and some text. The text are quotes from really spontaneous and funny comments from the Facebook Fans about the cakes that I thought were worth highlighting and using for something. So the best comments would have their own "digital poster" on the Fan Page.

Translations are:
"I've seen people show their darkest side to get a small piece in their mouth"
"I've seen people at a party, eating your cakes from the floor and even with bits of glass"
"F*ck my diet, I need a cake NOW!"

<description>I'm Bea a Spanish graduate from Hyper Island.

I enjoy brand strategy and concept as much as I enjoy how ideas are born through research, analysis and inspirational findings that trigger creative thinking.I believe that a good concept is as important as a good execution and like driving the team to make things happen during the production process.

I am looking for roles as a Digital Brand Strategist or Creative Producer. From Hyper Island I learned to work with idea generation and design thinking. From my past experience I have learned from the brand side, working for like Coca-Cola, Sony Pictures and Walt Disney. I am a fast learner and love to try out new things so I am always prepared to be "thrown" into any kind of project and easily adapt and learn from changes.

As part of the Hyper Island program I did an internship at
Partizan Darkroom in London then I worked for Unilever in Digital Brand Development for AXE/Lynx Europe in London and I am currently a producer ,agency side at AnalogFolk working for the Desperados Global account.

I'm also a contributor for Canvas 8. and for Portable TV, an online channel that explores fashion, film, music and art through online video.

This concept was created during the Branding, Design and Strategy module hosted by Grow at HYPER ISLAND

CLIENT:The Philippines

BRIEF:Brand the country

CONCEPT:Philippines by Filipinos

We wanted to create a brand that identified with the eastern and western culture influence in The Philippines. As well as the character of its citizens and the country that were boiled down to three key words: CREATIVITY, DIVERSITY and COMMUNICATION.

To show the CREATIVITY and DIVERSITY we created a logo that represented one of the 7.107 filipino Islands, inspired by their constant use of colour to whatever they have and the textures in the typical filipino huts. As well as the hand crafted feeling with the hand painted strokes in the logo. For the font we were inspired by real filipino handwriting and adapted the best font for it.

Our goal was to create a versatile branding concept, so versatile that could apply to the different regions but still be identified as part of the main logo. A brand image that would be strong enough to apply it taking into account the filipino behaviour and peculiarities (like the cardboard boxes, or the hand painted boats and stores to use as a stencil), and that could be used in different ways.

We also created an online platform that would represent the country branded by it's citizens. Pulling data from filipino user generated content like Flickr, Youtube,Wikipilinas and Twitter. In this way we could create a living brand that could change according to the country. Also with the aim to encourage foreigners to explore the country with different viewing options.

AWARDS:
Clio 2011 Student. Innovative Media-Bronze
Ads of The World February-Silver Award 2011
Creativity International Awards 2011-Platinum Award

This project was created during the Advanced Interface Design Module hosted by North Kingdom at HYPER ISLAND

CLIENT: WeSC

BRIEF: Connect the brand to music and/or art with the purpose to engage, entertain, impress and create a feeling of wanting to know more. The end goal was to create an impression so great the receiver would want to be the first one sharing the experience.

OUR CONCEPT: The Worldwide Conspiracy

This is the de-branded version of the video, you can see the branded one by request.

COACH: Thomas Larsson, Creative Director at B-Reel

TEAM: Gustaf Engström, Lucas Lima, Marcus Wallander, Juliana Oliveira, Bea Areilza.

MY ROLE: Research, Strategy ,Concept, Copywriting, Producer

We created a concept around and Interactive Display Window: The Worldwide Conspiracy.

All WESC Concept Stores would have these interactive windows where WESC Activists are showcased and chosen by users online all over the world. The name of the user is displayed on the lower corner of the window. Not only they choose the activist online but also create a pattern background to personalize their creation thay they can showcase in any of the cities they can choose online.

Tha reactions of the offline users are also recorded live and are shown on a live stream on the site so you can see, on a split screen the reaction and the consequence on the video.

The Brief was to connect the brand with Music/Art and we used the best connection and resource the brand has connected to the creative industry: The WeActivists. We also wanted the brand to be perceived as global and connect the Activists more to the people.

The window contains a screen that displays these videos generated online and that turn live when users triggers them offline by walking.

This project has been featured in PSFK, ADS OF THE WORLD and FUBIZ among other infuential sites. The concept has reached more than 100.000 views in less than a month

Our blog during the process (contains irony) www.hiwesc.tumblr.com and a Making Of the Interactive Window.

<description>I love analog in general but specially photography and cross processed developing so I started this work-in-progress

These are some of the pictures taken with my mother's old Olympus Pen EE-2 and Pentax SP500, Pentax MZ30 and some disposable cameras. None of the pictures have been retouched digitally or modified except for some minor cropping and resizing in some of them.

We had a fast workshop from North Kingdom where we had to create a Typeface.

I was inspired by Muscle Beach at L.A Venice Beach and created some letters of the Typeface. I've always thought Venice has a special vibe and was good fun to turn those muscle men into letters.

This is the result!

This concept was created during the Interactive User Experience module hosted by Doberman at HYPER ISLAND

CLIENT: Sverige Radio

BRIEF: Create a better user interface design for Swedish Radio Website to attract new listeners.

CONCEPT: A New Online Radio Player

TEAM: Gustaf Engström, Max Norman, Hampus Lemhag, Bodil Gustaffson, Bea Areilza

MY ROLE: Research, Strategy, Concept, Wireframing.

We created a concept to a new way of listening to radio. After a thorough research we noticed that the website was pereceived as a news site not a radio and users missed out on a lot of content because they didn’t know where to find it and the search field wasn't very precise.

The result is a dynamic yet simple radio player with segmented audio clips that also translates to more specific content search and possibilities of adding extra content (either from other websites or from swedish radio's own content) specific to what exactly is being listened to.

To convince the client about the benefits of segmenting the audio clip we came up with the idea for this video, and showed it to Swedish Radio.
