I made a moulding system which is based on the human cell division. Starting with four products from two worlds, industrial and old-fashioned I used a plastic bottle, an old earthenware oil pitcher, a plastic Tupperware can and a hand-twisted earthenware can. By dividing the moulds systematically, 60 stones appeared. At four stages of division the products mix themselves increasingly further and gradually a new family with new DNA appears. Corpus is the term used in Sweden for silversmithing. By looking differently at the tradition of making corpus which has a long history and by juxtaposing this craft world to the industrial world, I have created a visual and tactile landscape in which the aesthetics and materials of industrial and hand made objects are combined. These combinations of materials and processes will continue to give birth to “new corpus” presented on there own landscape. We cannot even really imagine our lives without clothes, furniture, electronics, and toiletries. I wondered if the human body could function as a carrier for these goods, taking inspiration from nomadic tribes who take their homes with them as they move from one place to the next.
