<description>Building a set of quality speakers has been sort of long term dream to me.
Before starting this project I had a question in principle – "Back Loaded Horn" or "Bass Reflex" - type of enclosures?
Both of they have pros and cons but back loaded horns seemed more exiting to build, also I never heard one playing - so I chose them:)
Usually this type of cabinets consist of dozens of details because of its complex bass-maze which has to widen exponentially (as a great horn). My enclosure has only 17 bits cut from 21 mm plywood - it's maybe the simplest diagram to make the idea of the speaker work.
The first impression gave me goosebumps! I never heard music, I listen daily bases, that high in detail; surely the Fostex elements give an extra touch of efficiency.
An amazing thing is how the horn can produce so deep and considerably loud bass while diaphragm's movement is only a few millimeters.
In conclusion. If you think of building a pair of speakers and prefer sensible for loud (although they can play very loud), go with HORNS!

<description>Flash website for my previous portfolio - TSF06.
The "space age looking" control panel actually exists - it was used in 1940's BBC Broadcasting House, London.
It's outlook is so perfect with those huge mixing buttons, I was stunned and decided to include it to my project.
The huge old tin horn on top was actually in use at the site of old Wembley stadium. I took a photo of it in 2004 while hanging around.
