BETWEEN GAPS
After the acclaimed collection The Finnish Blood In Me (2011), Sami Kallio Studio release a new collection for Milan 2012 - Between Gaps: chair - In Between, table – Stuck In The Middle and lamp – On Top.
The collection Between Gaps, were the spaces create the shape and material meetings creates details that give the products its function and character. Inspiration comes from traditional and simple craft techniques, a way of trying to create a balance between distances and dimensions.

THE FINNISH BLOOD IN ME
A Collection inspired, and interpreted of childhood memories from Finland.
In the easy chair SLICED you can maybe see a glimpse that the inspiration is from Ilmari Tapiovaara. The armature WORKSHOP is a reminder from all the workshops and the STOOL from the department store that we visited. 
A collection where material and detail are in focus.
Nothing strange or conceptual, just memories and function.

WORKSHOP - 
A armature made of untreated ash, where the cord is hidden inside the steam bended arm. The base is in metal and shade in aluminum. With the skrew of brass you can adjust the hight on the arm. The shade is easy to moved along the arm with the leatherband.

A Collection inspired, and interpreted of childhood memories from Finland.
In the easy chair SLICED you can maybe see a glimpse that the inspiration is from Ilmari Tapiovaara. The armature – WORKSHOP is a reminder from all the workshops and the STOOL from the department store that we visited. 
A collection where material and detail are in focus.
Nothing strange or conceptual, just memories and function.
