I just finished my master thesis. As you know, Due to the current, global challenges such as resource depletion and economic crisis, and international societal mega-trends such as multi-internationalisation, we are in transition from conventional methods of production to relatively novel methods that strives to be competitive, satisfy customer needs and have a lower environmental impact. Product-Service System (PSS) method is deemed to be a solid alternative towards this vision. To do that, we are in need of novel approaches to re-envision the current system. Therefore, Innovation methods are the backbone of PSS. Since PSS highly emphasizes the customers' needs and co-creation with them, user-innovation methods are required in order to boost PSS Innovation. Among user-innovation methods, Crowdsourcing seems to be valid option which would enable us to attract a large, undefined network of people to the innovation process. In this research, a success model for crowdsourcing practice is proposed and validated by literature and expert interviews. As a follow-up, based on the success model, a strategic guideline for innovation using open modes of collaboration is proposed. Moreover, we discuss the implication of PSS and sustainability and how these concepts can be empowered by crowdsourcing.

In addition, you can also read my thesis draft HERE => http://www.scribd.com/doc/81559843/How-CrowdSourcing-Can-Contribute-to-the-Early-Stage-of-Product-Service-System-Design !

I just uploaded some of the visuals that i made for thesis presentations. However, this page would be updated as soon as possible.

Meet-up & mash-up is a recurring event in Karlskrona designed to foster unexpected connections between individuals and ideas. The format is a series of short presentations where people share a concept or project that is related to a common theme. After that, the conversionsation continues over drinks and food. So even if you're not a presenter, expect to participate. Show up prepared to meet new people, and expect to talk about yourself - what you're good at, what you have to offer or maybe what you're looking for.

The team of organizing consisted of 5 people. It was the first time that event such this initiated at BTH University. 70 people showed up and six presenters talked about game design, crowdsourcing design, 3d printing, essence of innovation, and urban design.

The main rational behind the design was that users would be navigated easily. Complexity decreases the user engagement and consequently, a platform would loose its users.
<img src="http://payload28.cargocollective.com/1/3/113083/2860079/Untitled.jpg" width="491" height="705" width_o="491" height_o="705" src_o="http://payload28.cargocollective.com/1/3/113083/2860079/Untitled_o.jpg" data-mid="14552523" border="0" align="left"/>
The main intention was to design a no-end navigation. Meaning that if a user start exploring from home page, they would go on a circle and would be directed back to home page too.

This project aimed to Study the potential areas for innovation possibilities! The goal was to provide a package of innovative concepts for Volvo CE. This is part of extensive course through the cooperation between BTH and Volvo CE.
The project took 4 months. We started with need-finding phase. A series of case studies and interviews were done in this phase.
After that, we started brainstorming the ideas. We used different methods for brainstorming. The reason was to see the issue from different angles.
Then we jumped into to concepts generation. After a series of prioritizing, we reached to a package for Volvo CE that is towards their vision for future development. Augmented reality, united recycle alliance and fully autonomous worksite were the main concepts.
Finally, we did prototype to test our concepts. We did actually simulate inside of the cabin and how it should look like in future.

During summer 2011, I helped to constructing a house for artists in center of France, 2 hours away from Paris, using Eco Material such as hay and straw. The project was located in an organic-living environment.

As an engineer and product developer, I took responsibility for the procedures that need design-thinking base. We were working in group of 10 to 20 people and every task was done through a good team work.
It was a unique and precious experience because of working with eco-materials and getting a sense of how sustainability concept and criteria could be incorporated into our design.
Also It was an splendid experience in term of organic living and thinking. There were amazing people and there were amazing discussions in terms of how we could change the world towards the better and sustainable future!

In cooperation with Ankdammen heritage management, www.Ankdammen.eu, the initial design challenge was to design how the Kungshall heritage building in Karlskrona, Sweden could be refurbished after several decades of under-use to be something that is 1) financially sustainable, 2) gives back to the community, and our own self-imposed limitation was 3) for our design to have a vision and plan to be fully sustainable. Our idea is to turn the building into a micro-brewery with complementary facilities and services to be worked into the building at later stages.

Part of the Leg Rest Team that developed the innovative concept, which was initiated first by a local nurse, and subsequently, it got funded for further development and prototyping. In this project, we gave birth to a concept, designed and developed it. It was quite a unique project because of its entrepreneurial nature and also since it was lunched completely by students.

In this project, we used different methods to accomplish each steps throughly. We used methods to identify real customer needs, we used planning tools to scheme the design plan and etc...
All of these steps were involved with complexity and lots of unknown variables which were interesting and challenging at one side and at the other side made the project difficult and frustrating.

In cooperation with National University of the Federal State Amazonas (UFAM)-BRAZIL, we practiced Jute and Malva Fiber applications in Swedish Coffee Business and packaging. The purpose of the project was to gain a deeper, practical understanding of creative concept development methods that can be used during the early phases of the product development process. This was impossible unless with rethinking and re-conceiving how we currently fulfil human needs, identify user needs, generate concept ideas, and evaluate and prioritize between those ideas. To do that, different methods were used such as Design for ethnography and human centered methods.

By the end of this project, I was able to:
•	Describe the importance of creativity and the significance of identifying user needs in the early stages of the product development process.
•	Demonstrate an ability to select and utilize advanced methods for need identification, problem exploration, and the discovery of innovation opportunities.
•	Identify and choose appropriate prioritization guidelines for the purpose of evaluating and choosing concept ideas
•	Describe how organizational management can be used to promote or hinder creativity.
•	Independently plan and facilitate effective creativity sessions using creativity techniques to contribute to sustainable product-service system development.

By the end of this project, I was able to:
•	Describe product development process (e.g. in companies and in theory)
•	Describe different tools and concepts relevant to Eco-design and Sustainable Product Development and demonstrate the ability to apply the Strategic Sustainable Development framework to describe how these tools and concepts are best utilized
•	Relate to people now practicing such methods and tools including knowing key terms, roles, and approaches in those disciplines
•	Describe approaches to integrating Sustainable Product Development tools into existing product development environments
•	Describe criteria for selecting and assessing Sustainable Product Development tools depending on the context
•	Select the right level of details when using tools to assessing Product-service systems or concepts
•	Identify sustainability challenges in a product design and recommend suitable solutions to those challenges

In this project, in cooperation with Volvo, an overarching analysis related to their new product was done to give a holistic view about all the threads and opportunities around the product. In this project, we assessed the life cycle of the product and its value chain. We performed SWOT, PESTLE and stakeholder analysis to have broad understanding of all the related issues.

By the end of this process, I was able to:

•	Have a based understanding of possibilities and limitations of engineering for supporting the transformation of society towards sustainability
•	Apply the framework for strategic sustainable development (FSSD) to the product development process
•	Know about understand basic concepts of product innovation and with that as a base be able to facilitate communication between engineers and non-engineers
•	Understand the significance of various decisions during product development for the products’ socio-ecological impacts (both positive and negative) throughout the product life-cycle, e.g., how such decisions influence human need satisfaction and energy and transportation needs.
•	Know about various methods, tools and incentives for sustainable product development and procurement
