NRDC works to safeguard the earth—its people, its plants and animals, and the natural systems on which all life depends. They use law, science, and the support of 1.4 million members and online activists to protect the planet's wildlife and wild places and to ensure a safe and healthy environment for all living things.

This project consisted of updating NRDC's identity to reflect strength, pride, and action. The bear, with head held high, confidently moves forward, while the shield represents strength and protection. The eight-pointed star mimics a compass and references the global aspirations of NRDC's mission.

Recently launched in February of 2015, the mark was proudly revealed in Times Square.
