Drop Dead Interactive (DDI) is a collective of games designers and programmers, based in Cambridge. The indie company, which includes recent graduates from Nottingham Trent University, wanted a bolder logo to accompany the launch of their first game Light the Skies in summer 2010. Handing me a clean slate, they set the brief with just a few simple statements; to be creative; to visualise their mantra of fun gaming; and to give the collective a logo fit for their future. Sketches with pen and paper became on-screen artwork, and several designs were pitched in a couple of waves of concepts. The hard work resulted in DDI falling head over heels in love with the design finalised on this page. In fact they loved it so much, they commissioned a t-shirt printer to turn the logo into something wearable.
