Working with Blik Wall Graphics and Mattel I developed the concepts, art direction, and design for this project. The facility is beautifully designed with minimalist details and clean lines. The goal of the Hospital Play project is to infuse the space with…well, a sense of playfulness essential to development, learning, healing and growth. The project started with a pilot phase, focusing on the 5th floor. We worked with one of Blik's collaborators, Patrick Hruby, to create a magical world for the kids complete with an enchanted forest, whimsical garden and an undersea adventure. The big unveiling was during the hospital’s annual holiday party in December and was a huge hit with the patients and their parents. We think the photos tell the story best. The project will continue this year as it expands to other floors.

Besides designing computer graphics on the daily I also enjoy getting my hands dirty. My personal work explores a variety of mediums including collage, aerosol, acrylic, and pen & ink.

Working with Blik Studio & HLW Architects as the Senior Designer I designed, developed as well assisted in managing the manufacturing for 5 graphic environments as well as 50+ designed privacy glass windows for various conference rooms in Google's new L.A. offices. Our mission was to develop a fun and engaging experience that connected the viewers to their new So Cal surroundings.

The project was to reside in the famed Binoculars Building, originally the Chiat/Day Building, a commercial office building located in the Venice neighborhood of Los Angeles. Built between 1985-1991 for advertising agency Chiat/Day (now TBWAChiatDay) as its West Coast corporate headquarters, it was designed by Los Angeles architect Frank Gehry, his last project in Los Angeles until the Walt Disney Concert Hall began construction in 1999.

Along with the design of all the wall graphics shown all photography was shot by yours truly. Check back soon for a short video clilp of the experience!

The main entry to the L.A. HQ acts as the Google Museum. Consisting of the 600+ variations on Google's logo(which you may have seen on their homepage) the walls act as a portal through which the viewer is transported. With the development of new logo's for Google's homepage tribute's, the walls and ceiling will continue to evolve as new logo's are applied.

Just outside the executive conference room I designed a nature scene for the dubbed "ice cream lounge." The lounge also resides just outside the top floor deck with spectacular views of Venice.

50+ Privacy Glass designs for various conference rooms were also developed to provide discretion for Google's super secret meetings. Calling upon iconic imagery of Los Angeles we treated photographic images with a halftone effect and digitally printed the images on transparent eco-film giving them a silk-screen'd appearance. Names and signage were also developed to help viewers navigate the zone's and rooms.

The above is a screenshot from a mockup for the proposed privacy film.

I wouldn't mind working here would you?

I also developed a custom designed wall paper for one of Google's lounges which revolved around their garden theme. Along side that lounge resides the Hollywood conference room which I developed a custom woodgrain wall paper and graphic privacy film.

Inside the Hollywood conference room I designed a wood palette pattern photographed from our shop shipping palettes.

Just left of the Google museum resides a colorful meeting room where I designed a mural that welcomes the viewer's.

Google had this awesome custom pool table and chalk wall designed by local artisans.

It always help's to work with great architects! Thanks to the guys at HLW & Blik for making this project possible! As well as all the other artists, interior designers, and contributee's to this new space!

Cheers to all!

The Coastline College Graphics department was my first "real job" which I landed right before getting my undergrad from CSUF in 2009. Upon joining the establishment it was made clear that the college's publications were outdated and in need of new branding. Inspired by the college's new slogan "Tomorrow's College Today," our mission was to create something edgy and modern while maintaining the establishment's corporate image. The branding would consist of new logos, websites, photography, color palettes, stationary, and templates for various marketing materials.

Once the new branding was released, we had a mountain of updating to accomplish. Thus, my responsibilities at Coastline involved redesigning all templates for cover designs, printed publications, course catalogs, website materials, photo-shoots, and environmental graphics.
