This mixed-ability dance/theatre piece exposes and dissolves disability prejudices. Both able-bodied and disabled dancers guide the audience from a dark world of outcasts to a joyful world where difference is celebrated.
It is an unsettling but eye-opening journey, leaving the audience cringing, laughing, crying, smiling, and questioning the way we conventionally perceive differently-abled people.
I created the branding, posters, program, and further collateral, including social media presence.
A self-developed senior thesis project in writing and typesetting, based on designer Norman Bel Geddes and his relationship with his first wives and influenced by the format of the work Glas
by philosopher Jacques Derrida.
Bel-Geddes in Context
was exhibited at the Structure & Sign
, the 2013 senior Design exhibition at the Visual Arts Center, for which I also served as curator and wrote the exhibition catalog.

Light | Night: The Bike Light Dance Project originated as a proposal in my Design Methods course aimed towards solving the problem of students, with the advent of daylight savings, getting caught at night without bike lights.
The proposal was presented as "a poetic and visceral experience that educates students about bike safety at night through an event which involves the campus community in a choreographed dance and bike light giveaway."
It was then accepted by the UT Green Fee Fund and handed over to the department of Theatre & Dance for costuming, choreography, and production. I was brought on to create new branding to fit the circus-inspired vision of the choreographer.
The performance occurred on November 3, 2012.
