UI Design for Sports Stadium Point of Sale System

What is it?
An internal web application for managing restaurant sales and inventory with over 60 sporting venues within the US.

My Involvement:
• Interaction Design and Visual Design for extensive application, built on the ASP .NET platform, replacing an older Java app.
• Front-end styling and commitment of changes within Visual Studio and often as separate files to engineering team.
• Skinning Telerik UI elements.

Sample deliverables including several wireframes and a site map

Summary of Challenges and Outcomes:
With 100+ screen states this was by far the most extensive application that I've worked on. Every few weeks for the greater part of a year, I would design a new section of the application, while engineering developed the previous sections, careful to make sure things scaled up effectively as we moved forward. Particularly challenging was being involved with visual treatment of the application, which though non-customer-facing (thus not needing to be incredibly sexy), still proved a bit of a challenge in terms of workflow and getting the necessary styles in the proper place. Initially I worked committing changes directly to the build, but later this proved be too problematic, so I would carefully style small parts of the application for engineering to later insert. In summary, I feel that the application came together successfully, and am particular proud of the easy through which users are able to find their way through the application, with the combination of the breadcrumb, stacked tabs, and collapsable tree navigation.
