About Peace Is My Language
Peace is My Language is an educational group started by master students on Peace and Development Work at Linnéuniversitetet, Växjö, Sweden.
Our aim is to reach people who might not be aware of developmental and peace issues and encourage them into taking action for a better World. No matter your field of studies and no matter how much or little you know about world peace/development, you are welcome to join us at our conferences and discussions, and to propose your own ideas for workshops (which you yourself will be able to prepare and present)!
Peace is My Language utilizes GES events (Gather, Educate & Share) to reach out to new demographics, transforming more people into humanitarian actors.
As a strong advocate of the GES model, PIML encourages other organisations & associations to host their own GES events. Partnering with IOH, PIML broadcasts its activities on The Humanitarian Social Network. PIML endorses students of Peace & Development to create their own PIML associations and run their own GES events.
Peace is My Language is run by its active members
Miguel Varela, Elliott Verreault, Meidimi H. Sokoto and Yasmin Menke.
with the help of students @ Linnéuniversitetet, Samvete/Conscience and the Red Cross Youth Organization.
After having reached +500 people in our events, PIML is currently on an undefined break to let the members develop their careers on the field of Peace and Development. We hope to come back in the near future!
