tsunami gelatine (2004-2011)

video captation extract

Interactive installation produced in response of the Indonesian tsunami in 2004. The water instability lets predict raging inundations that lead to the element own loss. In this interactive installation, the element is kept in cage of the screen and now out of danger as endangered species like lions can be seen in captivity in a zoo.

The spectactor comes to set in motion the natural motion of the Sea by his caresses and his clics. He activates a chaotic movement, a deaf exasperation.
Deprived of its depth and natural current, the movement amplitude is violently interrupted.

The title "gelatine" echoes to the silly random movement the jelly cake does when you shake it.
