These are photos I've taken for Just for Laughs Group, for the Montreal 2011 festival. My main objective was to show the scale & diversity of the free outside activities. They wanted colorful and vivid pictures.

Founded in 1983, the Just For Laughs Group’s growth is concentrated on four major focal points: Festivals (in Montreal, Toronto and Chicago); television production (most notably Gags seen in 135 countries and on 95 airlines), live shows and talent management.
Its inaugural Montreal Festival, 28 years ago, is now the world's largest and most prestigious comedy event welcoming 2 million people each summer. The Group has offices in Montreal, Paris, Los Angeles, Toronto and London.

The Just For Laughs comedy festival held a press conference at Desautels Pavillion of McGill University on Tuesday May 10th to unveil their full line-up for the summer 2011 festival.
For the first time ever, fans and Desautels students, staff and faculty were invited to attend. They had the pleasure to unveil this years world-renowned special guest star : Russell Peters.

All of these photos were taken while on assignment portraying a day in the making of an album. Recording was two weeks non stop 13-15 hrs a day. I was invited to capture the feeling and the mood of the moment.

This high-tech recording studio was a challenge to photograph because it had multiple light sources. I did my best to make use of those lights and not fight against them.
