About. Hyunjoo Oh.

My name is Hyunjoo Oh. I am a creator and researcher working on various digital media projects. My recent research explores novel experience design for interactive media in terms of supporting creative activities such as storytelling, art, programming, and music. I believe that creativity can be nurtured; deep engagement in a playful environment inspires people to actively explore their ideas. My studies center on how immersive experience via interactive media can be developed to form enjoyable and motivating environments to promote creative cognitions meaningfully and effectively. I published in the Journal of Science and Technology of the Arts as one of the 2012 issues and conferences including TEI (Tangible and Embedded and Embodied Interaction 2012, 2013) and IDC (Interaction Design and Children Conference 2012).

I received MET (Master of Entertainment Technology) from the Entertainment Technology center of Carnegie Mellon University in USA and MD (Master of Design) and BFA (Bachelor of Fine Arts) from the Media Interaction design and Visual Information Design of Ewha Womans University in South Korea. Currently I am an adjunct faculty in the web and interactive media department of the Art Institute of Pittsburgh teaching integrating video skills into interactive media with interactive narrative as well as contemporary design issues.
