BOYSON
Boyson was by far one of my favorite projects to work on to date. A collaborative stop-animated film directed by photographer John Michael fulton, Boyson was a challenge not only visually but one of my first experiences working with an independent team of designers that included Erin Stevens (Art Direction), Erik Astudillo (Music), Hannah Betterton (Vocals), Leslie Michelle (Interior Production), and myself. I was responsible for the exterior environments as well as some creative direction, production & intro sequence.
"Boyson is a dark, spellbinding piece that captures the beautiful relationship between mother and son. My curiosity as a director is in the production of mood and the ambivalence of a resolution. Using reconstructed Jungian archetypes & symbols, the viewer witnesses a reinvention of the body in a corporal, visceral experience."
