THEA BASTHUS NILSEN

My grandfather has been an avid collector of various materials throughout his life. The idea for the the stool emerged when discovering a small piece of extremely hard and beautiful padauk-wood at his home, and wanting to find a use for it.
I wished to make as little intrusion into the material as possible while still making a simple and functional product. The fieldtrip stool consist of wood parts, metal rods and a fabric seat that can easily be taken apart.
