London native Lim Cooper studied at Central Saint Martins
for both her BA Womenswear and four years later under
Professor Louise Wilson OBE for her MA Fashion specialising in knitwear. She won the prestigious Chloe award in 2011, and was awarded the L’Oreal Bursary, Loro Piana sponsorship and Bally womenswear award in 2012, which saw her specially designed knit and leather pieces presented at London Fashion week A/W 2012.
Inspired by football socks and the works of artists such as Mark Vaux and Angela De La Cruz, Lim Cooper showed 12 looks in the Saint Martins MA show during London Fashion week A/W 2012.
Each piece beautifully crafted and artfully designed, her use of traditional craftsmanship fused with modern materials and techniques push the boundaries of knitwear and its appeal.
"personally I'll be watching for more of …..the simple manipulation of artfully-engineered ribbed knit from Mei Lim-Cooper. They seemed alive - with a life off the catwalk and magazine page, no less."
