ABOUT LAIKA
LAIKA explores the intersection of contemporary art and 21st century media culture. Currently based in Berlin, LAIKA hosts innovative productions in the fields of audiovisual and digital arts such as performances, installations, screenings, lectures and other related av practices. Consistently presenting evolutionary avant-garde artists from around the world, LAIKA offers a new concept of an art event – a well-defined but broad-minded cultural happening. With every project, LAIKA develops an empowering and ambitious event, presenting performances of expanded cinema, aesthetic interventions, musicians with visual projects as well as animation artists.
MISSION STATEMENT
LAIKA seeks to develop an international platform for audiovisual arts where artists, audience, curators and cultural agents can interact and discover this new and dynamic art scene. LAIKA’s goal is to combine theory and practice, whereby LAIKA offers lectures, workshops, discussion panels in addition to performances, screenings and concerts.
