SwitchIt
To demonstrate design as a plan for action, I spent a week observing my roommate Andy to find an everyday problem that could be solved by design. The resulting product design and packaging is SwitchIt, a set of monthly lightswitch covers urging viewers to “use only what you need” when it comes to keeping the lights on.
The packaging also encourages interaction: folders double as an organizer for monthly electrical bills, SwitchIts house a write-in space for last month’s bill and this month’s goal.
