サンフランシスコ対岸にあるオークランドで週末を過ごした。ソウルフルな街の雰囲気にインスパイアされて久しぶりにビートを作った。ついでに街中散策した時にiPhone4でとった映像をビデオに流し込んでみた。ハデな事はできないがiMovie、操作が簡単でけっこうおもしろいかも！
Been hanging out in the East Bay and got inspired by the city vibe and dropped it into a beat. Haven't touched my MPC in a while so was fun choppin' and messin' with samples. Threw a quick vid together with footage from while cruising round town. Shot w iPhone4.

DJ Lefto, left coast & YABASUGIRU SKILLZ.

去年暮れあたりのめちゃ寒い日に友達のあるパーティーに行った。クラブに入ったとたん鼓膜が激しく音に反応。超かっこいいジャジーヒップホップだなぁと思ったらいきなりスクラッチでボッサ入れたかと思ったらバツカダパキパキ、誰この人ー！！！ 友達に聞いたらその名もDJ LEFTO. それを聞いた隣にいたユウさんがキャピキャピの女子高生みたいにはしゃぎ始めた。”キャー！　マジマジーッ？！丁度今日ラジオで聞いてたの！　レフトはGilles Petersonの右腕的存在のスゴ腕DJよ！”　

５ヶ月後の一昨日、超レアなオールブラジリアンの音楽を引っさげてレフトはベルギーからまたSFにやってきた。今度はBRAZA!というパーティーでDJしたらしい。。これはその時の貴重な記録。enjoy.

Last year on a cold rainy day, I dragged myself out of the crib and walked to my friend's party Afrolicious. As I was walking up the stairs my ear drums started to tremble in good vibration. Dude on the decks was scratching up jazz, hiphop to batucada like nobody's buzinazz, who the hell is that hommie?! I asked my friend, "His name is lefto."

5months later, Lefto was once again in SF all the way from Belgium. His computer full of Brazilian jams (amongst all the other jams one can possible imagine), lefto was ready to take over BRAZA! This super rare session was capture on tape. enjoy
