the family
This piece was the end of the four part series about a journey of one across time. In the first story "the batchelor" the individual recognizes the need for others. In the second, "the story we tell the children about how I met your mother" one meets another and the story vs the reality are revealed in two paint layers. in the third part, "honeymoon" the two journey through life connecting and breaking apart through events and settling on a path together.
The 4th story here is about two that trek together and become 3 and then 4 and then 5. It is about building groups: friendships, families and clans that work together to build the future.
These two models saw the painting on the street near the church and hoped it was free. They gave more than they had and adopted the painting. Its frame was always crooked and here, eating lunch with them down the street it seemed so happy to be journeying with the women through life. Tall, awkward and slim this piece seemed like it had found a wonderful home in these two.
The piece was a symbol of their journey together and their friends and lives as they travel the world modeling.
