bathurst
I went to Bathurst for the first time yesterday. Its only one hour from my Blackheath house so I don't know why I haven't been there before. They have some great fabric and vintage shops. I unfortunately missed out on visiting many of the vintage shops as they closed midday (if they opened at all on a Saturday).
My all time favourite fabric shop is Home Patch. It has beautiful felted wool amongst other cool things. Its a bit on the expensive side considering I really want to make a quilt out of them but they are so so lovely. I'm thinking of getting some old wool blankets to felt and match up with the little pieces I got. Anni Downs, the owner of Home Patch has ultra cute sewing kits that go with the wool pieces though: pin cushions, cushion covers, etc, so there are plenty of little cute things to make with them.
I also bought heaps of doilies in The Naked Bud. How cool is the horse doily :) Heaps of cheap and reasonably priced vintage homewares, clothes, linen, etc.
