My name is Gabe.
When I write with a pencil, I press hard.
I'm a lefty.
I can draw pictures,
but I prefer to write words.
RadioShack: DIY Launch
CD Erik Enberg
ACD Justin Bucktrout
AD Katrina Michie / Shahin Edalati
In 2011, RadioShack returned to their do-it-yourself roots with "The Great Create." The campaign celebrated not just RadioShack
parts but the amazing things people made with them. Built on strategic partnerships in the DIY community, "The Great Create"
leveraged user-generated content, print, web video, digital executions and a microsite to reconnect with makers everywhere.
The result was a resurgence of goodwill and a dramatic increase in sales within the category.
MINI: MINI + Burton Partnership
CD Steve Mapp
AD Nick Kamei
The 2012 MINI/Burton partnership consisted of print, guerilla, dealer initiatives, giveaways and the MINI sponsored Burton Snowboarding Championships.
Priceline: Department of Negotiation
CD Steve Mapp
ACD Josh Leutz
AD Marc Wilson
It's always a good sign when you present two directions for an assignment, three posters each, and the client buys them all. It's also
a sign that you'll be working later than you expected. Here's our favorite of the two.
RadioShack: Holiday Campaign 2010
CD John Butler
ACD Justin Bucktrout
AD Katrina Michie
My partner and I created the 2010 RadioShack holiday campaign: Holiday Heroes. Our concept set the tone for the entire
campaign, which we kicked off with these TV spots.
Purell: The Secret Lives of Hands
AD Haleh Hashemi
When your teacher gives you a new brief, vintage erotica isn't always the best place to start – in this case it was. These billboards
won us an Art Directors Club student award and a trip to New York courtesy of the Academy of Art.
YP: As Seen On Hulu
ECD Mike Shine
CD Lyle Yetman
AD Eron Broughton
We made a ton of these bumpers for local markets, as well as brand-centric versions for the popular Internet television
station Hulu. YP's campaign had been emotional and headline driven, even in broadcast, up until this shift so it was a fun
left turn for the team.
Nooka: Speak Your Mindstyle
AD Jang Soon Hwang
There's nothing better than having a laugh, but not every brand calls for humor. This brief from the One Show was for a Nooka,
a watch maker that was expanding into other fashion accessories. We were asked to create an integrated brand campaign –
and since Nooka is a modern, international brand – we wanted to create a visually compelling campaign that had the ability
to break the barriers of language. The result was Speak Your Mindstyle, a campaign built on the visual form of
the brand's flagship product.
MINI: Cinema Posters
CD Steve Mapp
AD Marc Wilson
When we were asked to do dealership posters that would be displayed in movie theaters, we decided to have a little fun. And since we were announcing the launch of MINI's
biggest car, the 4-door Countryman, it was important that we go big.
Ford: See How Far Green Can Go
CW Gabriel Johnson / Francisco Guijarro
AD Gabriel Johnson
D&AD and Ford asked students to create a YouTube page for the Econetic line of Ford vehicles. Our idea, See How Far Green
Can Go, was about a virtual journey on a single tank of gas. In the case of the Econetic, that's 100km. Our concept was for users
to make the web page itself 100km long by leaving comments. There were three apps to help us hasten the long journey; a green
lorem ipsum generator, a collaboration with an organization that plants trees in Africa and an app that would scan any book about
the environment that you own and print it in it's entirety. The promotion was incentivized with environmentally friendly prizes.
Priceline: USA Today Weatherstrips
CD Steve Mapp
AD Lisa Doman / Cherish Watson
Regularly occuring print ads for specific promotions, which appeared in the weather section of the newspaper.
