These portraits were shot on a cold and dreary day in Heidmork Park, close to the perimeter of Reykjavik. Little did I know that most of these studies would lead to other important projects such as Icelandic Tremors and video footage for Mother Nature and the Tuning of the World.
My colleague and muse for many of the projects I create in Iceland [Elin Anna Thorisdottir], was kind enough to recruit these feminine subjects to participate in some short gestures in this barren landscape. I felt the need to create my own mythology for each girl and to capture their strength, youth and vulnerability.
