I recently misheard someone say "aesthetically pleasing" as "aesthetically policing". I liked that, and that's what I do every day, all day long.

All design should be visceral - you should see it and feel something. I go with my gut, follow rules without knowing what they are, and in the end I find a way to meet client needs in a timely manner.
