The Hip Hop Haven project was an assignment where our studio needed to locate an area to hold an exhibit for First Friday in downtown Raleigh. We also were in charge of creating every part of the exhibition. I specifically created the record installations, which were created by etching and cutting typography out of and onto vinyl records. We worked with a non-profit organization, Hip Hop Haven, who allowed us the use their space. We worked with the kids in Hip Hop Haven to create pieces for the exhibit. They were as much a part of it as we were.
