Joe Berkeley, Creative Director/Writer

Hi. I'm Joe. I'm a writer and a group creative director at Hill, Holliday. I pride myself on being able to work with any team, with any budget, in any medium for pretty much any client. As a leader, it is important to get the best out of the people around me by finding untapped potential in them and building them up.
My best work involves getting out of the comfort zone and overcoming significant obstacles. There's usually a moment of doubt in every great campaign, and it's my job to will it into existence.
Sport has had a profound influence on my development as a human being and as a professional. In fact, the lessons I learned racing sailboats, being captain of the Tufts Sailing team, and riding bicycles have been invaluable.
The process of setting a goal like winning a National Championship, riding the Tour de France, or racing up Mt. Washington in under 1:20:00, then creating a thoughtful plan to accomplish it is a template for any worthwhile endeavor, including creating great advertising.
To date, my work has been honored with One Show Gold (the one I really wanted), Bronze, and numerous finalists, a Gold, Silver, Bronze sweep of the Athena awards for excellence in newspaper advertising, inclusion in CA, an Andy statue and finalist, a Mercury winner and two finalists for radio, a couple of Clios, a Cannes Lion, dozens of Hatch bowls, a gold Kinsale Shark from Ireland, and a silver nomination from British D&AD. Others include entry into the AICPA show, a MITX award, One Show Rx, and Mobile Media campaign of the year.
