Seeking the Monkey King
Director: Ken Jacobs
Assistant to the Artist: Jason Drakeford
Soundtrack: JG Thirlwell
I've been working as assistant to Avant-Garde filmmaker Ken Jacobs on the new film “Seeking the Monkey King” for the past year, which just premiered at the New York Film Festival 2012. Be prepared for a cinema experience that takes a place between two and three dimensions, pushing time to take on substance and enveloping you into the a world beyond the surreal. This has been an epic undertaking, incomparable with any other avant-garde film you've ever seen. It's currently in festival circuits and not available to view online, until then there's the New York Times review and the Village Voice.
You (to the power of 10)
Director/Editor: Jason Drakeford
Music: Moby (used with permission)
Voice Over: Erin Dutton
This video was made to reinterpret the original "Powers of Ten" Eames video. The idea "scale is the new geography" is reinterpreted with scale being a method to measure time, and our actions as the geography. A detailed account of how our actions (to the power of ten) influence others and the world around us as human beings, whether they be good, or bad, which leads to the ultimate question... "What are You, to the Power of Ten?"
Taxi Etc.
