Captain Dreamweaver

I was briefed to write and design a basic tutorial for a chosen design software aimed at beginners. Choosing Dreamweaver, a program that can be daunting at first, I aimed to create a tutorial that was approachable and simple to follow. From research I found that the main reason people didn’t give Dreamweaver a go was that they associated it with boring, tedious coding and difficult technical issues. These are the people I wanted to aim the guide at.

I chose a comic book style as it appears a lot more exciting than your average software guide and allows for lots of visual examples. I created the character Captain Dreamweaver to give the short booklet a quirky personality, who takes you through the basics of Dreamweaver step by step. The result is a unique comic-like tutorial booklet that is simple to follow and shows readers that Dreamweaver isn’t that scary.
