A group of Roman Senators calling themselves The Liberators conspired to assassinate Julius Caesar. Having learned of this plot, Marc Antony attempted to warn Caesar, but was stalled by a group of Senators. As Caesar passed the Theatre of Pompey, the Liberators directed him into a room where they swarmed and stabbed him a total of twenty-three times, only one of which proved to be fatal.
