Laptops
Challenge: Design a 15.6” entry level multimedia laptop. The product was targeted to budget users so there was a very strong need to keep costs down. The components placement wasn’t thin but the product had to look appealing and provide enough flexibility to be offered to different brands and regions.
Approach: The schedule was very tight but we managed to finish on time by keeping a close collaboration with the PM, ME and Sales teams. More budget was dedicated to the top cover and palm rest; other parts were kept as the raw material with in mold textures to improve appearance. Strong attention was kept on simple details, making the product feel simple and friendly, inviting the users to have an engaging experience.
The product is actually being sold in USA, Europe, Turkey and Japan under different brands.
