Challenge: Create a new Digital Camera for a young, style oriented, user segment.
Approach: Started studying the market segmentation and brand positioning in collaboration with the client, after which a design and CMF trends research was performed for each market segment.
A first round of concepts was tested with focusgroups, from which three concept were selected for refinement and finally one was selected for further development. Finally, an extensive digital CMF study was created that helped to easily visualize and discuss innovative finishes that were introduced to the market.
Challenge: Refresh the product by only changing the front housing in a very limited time frame before Christmas season.
Approach: Used a polymodeling technique and printed many SLAs to check ergonomics and adjust on the go, reducing the prototyping costs and development times. CMF was also updated to have a higher quality feeling.
