During 2003 to 2007 I participated in many projects with Gustavo Fontana Inc. for the Bose Automotive Center and their exclusive clients.

While some projects focused only on the center dashboard and UI, others required to redesign the seats, door panels, trunk components and other accessories.

During these projects we opened the dialog to have a more strategic approach, integrating other products and services from the company to create a better user experience, create more value and reinforce the market position.

Challenge: Create an infotainemnt and navigation system for Bose Automotive that could be applied to other exclusive car makers as well. The system had to enable an improved and unique user experience and take into consideration all the safety regulations from the transportation industry.

Approach: There was constant cross collaboration with the UI and engineering teams to achieve some interesting usability innovations with the use of proximity sensors and double collapsible knobs. The design took in consideration many ergonomic requirements to facilitate the access to information and media without being a distraction for the driver.

The Bose Media System was showcased in the Geneva Auto Show 2007 on one of the world’s best vehicles, the Ferrari 612 Scagiletti.
