This serie of posters is build up using a simple set of rules focussed on showing the personal view of a museum about an exhibition. The system determines a couple of points in the artwork which then form a line on which all the type is set. The line can then be used without the image making a recognisable composition which communicates all information. For communicating monthly programs and group expo’s I made a system based on a classic grid, which is then rearranged in three steps controlled by random values created by illustrator. This gives it the same recognisable look and feel as the other designs.

Inspired by the “inflation” created by collectors who pay up to 50 times the original value of a coin, I created a system controlled by the serial number on a bill, which creates an unique peace of art on each bill. The serial code was placed on the bills in 4 layers, not really legible but still containing all information of the code. To achieve this I created a simple system translating numbers and letters to coded shapes. The result is endless posibilities of unique bill’s inviting all collectors to make the “inflation” rise as fast as possible

In this project I visualised the nine circles of hell as they are described in Dante's inferno. All visuals are completely made in photoshop without using existing images and making sure that all the type is still editable, resulting in 9 different photoshop presets.

This was the first project in which I tried to loose control over the aesthetics of the work. I made presets in photoshop and illustrator that are completely editable and re-usable, the outcome depends on the fonts used. The system allows the user to change colour and any desirable layout can be used.

Inspired by the maps German soldiers left after having occupied the Hague during WWII, this map shows all the embassies in the Hague including their possible strength in war, all based on facts from the world fact book. My main goal was to show the embassies as interventions in public space and try to alienate them by highlighting their existence.

Promotion material for the Studium Generale KABK. In this poster I made a seperation between two layers of information, There is the obvious giant name which communicates very clearly the name of the event. Then there is a second layer which shows facts about all lectures during the particular event. To do this I designed a system that creates a grid unique to the content of the current event, showing you all kinds of trivial facts about lectures. It is mainly used as decoration but does in fact show loads of information. The layer of extra information was printed in iris print so that every single one has its own slight change in colour.

Just as every other graphic designer I like to make magazines, therefor when Mister Three gave me the opportunity to help design the first edition of Monday Inspiration I was very happy to create several type experiments as well as to help Mister Three with the layout and content. The magazine is focused on young Dutch design and can be seen online or found in shops if your lucky.

The boy toys are a contra reaction on the use of random in design, we aim to show that the so called new images created by codes can eassily be made by hand. The vibrators started out as a coincidence but turned out to be a great selling point for the work, giving it the controversial touch of sex. The project has been picked up by several people wich resulted in workshops, VJ-shows and several expositions, including Today’s Art and Integrated 2011.

In this book I visualised the mind-maps that I made while doing research in drawings that could be made while unconscious. After pages and pages of research I came to the conclusion that the actual mindmaps where drawings made unconscious. All I needed to do then was to find a way of using all this material and make it into a drawing. I connected all subjects and maps together into one long drawing of more than 9 meters showing a journey through my mind in a design process.
