About Gennaro DE PASQUALE
Multimedia artist Gennaro De Pasquale was born in Bisceglie (Italy), in 1969.
He completed his Fine Arts studies in France. He has participated in many individual and collective exhibitions across Europe and Canada. He has also shown his works in Asia, United States, Brazil, Chile, Japan. He participated in the exchange between the Clark Centre and the Glassbox gallery which gave birth to the exhibition Citizen, in Paris, 2002. In 2004, two of his works were shown at the Quebec National Museum of Fine Arts, as part of the group exhibition « ils causent des systèmes » notably including his sound art work « OK Computer ». In 2004, he conceived and directed the net art project Post-Audio NetLab. In 2006, he curated the project called Post-Audio_DVD, a compilation of audiovisual works created by Montreal artists. In 2008, he presented Panorama, an experimental video work made from video fragments: the original samples come from downloaded films (classified Public Domain), found on the internet. In 2010, he participated to the Public Domain project commissioned by Saw Video, creating ‘’Vortex’’, an experimental video made of archival footage from the Library and Archive Canada collection.
Gennaro de Pasquale's work is composed of installations, videos, photographs, drawings, sound pieces and new media projects.
He lives and works in Montreal.
