All that is solid, melts into air
Following post-war architectural designs, in an effort to house people cheaply and quickly, high-rise landscapes have characterised our cities and have become a way to collect people together. This has affected, and continues to, the essence of community in our European cities, with the number of people moving to live in urban environments increasing each year to record levels. At the end of the video, viewers face the questions posed by the media-makers: How do the changing landscapes of Europe affect you? How can you remap your Europe?
"All That Is Solid Melts Into Air" by Francesca Ali Mirza is a commissioned video produced by BFI Future Film for Radical Democracy: European Video Challenge 2014.
