Fashion Forward, (AD January 2013 Edition, Volume 70, Number 1)
The latest jewel in Donatella Versace's stylish crown is an exquisite boutique in Manhattan's SoHo neighborhood. Created in collaboration with London architect Jamie Fobert, the new outpost melds clean, contemporary lines with old-world artisanal touches, as evidence by cuved Plexiglass partitions hung above a mosaic-tile inspired by Roman basilicas. "It's a celebration of the house's love for both ancient and modern," Versace says of the space. Along with the brand's famously formfitting frocks, the 1,800-square-foot store offers menswear, home accesories (like studded-leather vases), and limited-edition items such as earphones and stationary emblazoned with the signature medusa-logo as unmistakeable as Donatella herself. At 160 Mercer St, New York, New York.
