Inspired by Sophie Calle collaboration with Damien Hirst I gave some “test subjects/ patients” the fictional T4-02 form used for the 2003 “Psychological assessment” piece used for her show at the Pomppidou Center. I provided my subjects with a variety of cheese and wine as to create a comfortable environment and reassured them that the test was only a practice and to be honest, but not take it seriously. I hoped that a friendly environment would lead to some interesting answers. Some of the forms filled by the subjects were sent to a psychologist for analysis about their personalities. By agreeing to take the form, they allowed themselves to be photograph, recorded and their information to be used for this presentation.

What brought about this piece is the two aspects about Ms. Calle I like the most; the honesty, openness and vulnerability of her self reflective pieces as well as the pieces in which she chooses to study and inquire about other people. Though certain answers were expected it was still fascinating to see how willing people were to open themselves via a form to a person they barely knew and a psychologist they would never meet.
