teaching graphic design
SInce 2002 I have been working with students at Chelsea College of Art & Design BA/MA in Graphic Design Communication. This role has encompassed teaching technical, software (print design/moving image/digital), process and leading several design projects on a regular basis. Many of these including working between companies and the college such as the BBC, UMBRO, MINISTRY OF SOUND, KOKUYO, SKY and many more. I assist the D&AD student award entrants every year and we have one many yellow pencils, in 2011 all the winners of the SKY ARTS stings awards were from the Graphics course at Chelsea. Working with the BBC and James May's Production team I led a group of students in producing a giant interactive graphic installation projected ion the side of the Royal Festival Hall for the programme 'James May's - My Sisters Top Toys'.
I teach across all 3 BA year groups and the MA and contribute towards all aspects of the course as a longstanding member of the tight knit and experienced teaching team. I also interview prospective students and am a member of special intrest groups developing digital creativity policy at UAL.
I am also instrumental in delivering the annual student exhibitions (see other section) which are taken to extreme professional lengths at Chelsea and include moving image design, scenographic design, design for print, lighting, interactive media, 3d design, event organisation, project planning and budgeting.
