About HOD
The House of Dangerkat (HOD) is a collection of international artists founded in Calgary, Alberta Canada by Kaiti Dangerkat. They synthesize fashion, music, dance and visual media to create works that challenge performance norms, in favour of diversity and innovation.

The House's laissez-faire style of performance art has wowed the fashion, dance and music communities with their progressive approach to art making and rule breaking.

HISTORY

After completing a visual arts degree with a minor in dance, Kaiti realized that she wanted to combine her talents to create multifaceted performance pieces. She began collaborating with her peers and colleagues, ranging from DJ’s, artists, dancers, photographers, filmmakers and stylists. As these elements came together, Kaiti realized she had a dynamic group of artists willing to work together under one umbrella. In 2007 the House of Dangerkat was born.

After their first performance in Calgary, Canada, international attention was paid to the HOD and momentum grew quickly. The group, then entirely Canadian-based, was invited to perform in New York City and began networking with artists from around the world.

In the past two years the HOD’s performance list has grown substantially. They’ve shared the stage with Producer/DJ Diplo at the 2008 Central Park Summer Stage in New York City, a festival which also featured artists such as Santigold, Blaqstarr, Kid Cudi and A-Trak. For Paris Fashion Week (March 2009) the HOD performed a commissioned piece at Colette for Mattel's 50th Anniversary party for Barbie, featuring co-exhibitors Karl Lagerfeld (Chanel) and Jeremy Scott. In the summer of 2009, Fool's Gold's DJ Kingdom teamed up with Kaiti and the crew to host and perform regularly at the legendary Mr. Black nightclub in New York City. During that same time, the Calgary crew premiered ADDICTED at Tribeca Grand NYC, soon to be followed up with acclaimed shows in Calgary and Helsinki, where they were invited as "the best voguing and waacking crew in the world right now" and showcased with legends like the Electric Boogaloos, GoGo Brothers, Tommy the Clown, Bboy Ynot and more. In September, the HOD danced throughout London Fashion Week at Vivienne Westwood, PPQ and Nova Dando events and were highlighted alongside La Roux for Dando's launch at the Hospital Club. And most recently, they stormed New York Fashion Week with the Misshapes for Jeremy Scott, i-D Magazine and Q Models.
