Walking Due East
Walking due east
With the sun on my face
Is just the intention
I think should replace
All the cautious wandering
That looks so good on paper
But is just the sort of plan
That turns substance to vapor

Flying straight up
With the sun in my eyes
Is just the invention
I want to resize
All the small little plans
That looks so good in theory
But is just the sort of musing
That makes the hopeful weary

Dreaming wide open
With the sun on my brain
Is just the extension
I need to regain
That childlike dependence
That looks so good to many
But is just the sort of innocence
That lives in hardly any
