LANDSCAPES ARE PSYCHIC AND SPIRITUAL EXTENSIONS AS WELL AS PHYSICAL ONES.
I experiment with all sorts of media; photography, drawings, paintings, video to explore my personal (her)story. (Her)story is tangible and definitive, archived in symbols and etchings inspired by taiwanese aborigines maps. I am the legacy of my mother, my grandmother, or in a grander sense, the accumulated history of my taiwanese and aborigines ancestry.
I am interested in the expressiveness of the interaction between nature landscapes and the body, the evidence of dream imagery to real time experiences, and the interplay between the intangible digital and the physical "humanistic" forms. My works tries to simultaneously expand and collapse space/objects that inhabit space. I think awareness of self exists within the process of de-centralizing one’s consciousness in space. I use many paradigms of identity: race, religion, landscape and gender to organize time and media to function as perceptual conversations between myself and the viewer.
