Tectonic Reef is a 1:1 scale complex built with the experimental design lab as part of St Kilda Festival 2011. The installation was developed from rule-based aggregations and variations of tetrahedron geometries through analog and digital models, and was made possible by devising a joinery and documentation system for the full-scale build.

Tectonic Reef was built live at the festival. It took 8 hours to complete and covered approximately 400 square meters of beach using over two thousand bamboo poles.
