Four handcarved wedges of African Mahogany combined with a set of salvaged leaf springs from a 1960’s-era muscle car are the firm, yet flexible ‘suspension’ for a black cherry top in this new coffee table. A hint of the trickster and a bit of Asian influence seem to grin back from counter-curving steel ‘leaves’. Wooden leaves made of Sipo form the cross-brace and storage shelf, continuing the theme of supple strength that this table embodies.
